On the title

The title of this, my first-ever blog, is inspired by a novel of the same title by Susan Choi. Easily the best novel I have read in several years.

I'm also a Leo, and love having my picture taken, and will tell you things about myself before you even ask. So you see "a person of interest" works on more than one level.

A high school friend who I saw for the first time in 20 years last Saturday encouraged me to start a blog to document my trip to Palestine later this month. "It's easy!" he said. "You'll be up and running in 5 minutes." He was right!
