This is the last post for a few days. We're heading to the village of Zababida this morning (in a few minutes) where we will help with the olive harvest. Zababida is almost straight north of Nablus. I think it takes a couple of hours to get there from Bethlehem (not counting any time spent at checkpoints).
One thing I forgot to mention in yesterday's post...in the morning we stopped at Jacob's Well in Nablus. This is the well where Jesus asked the Samaritan woman to give him a drink. The well is housed inside the Greek Orthodox church. There are 4 Christian churches in Nablus: Greek Orthodox, Melkite Catholic, Roman Catholic, and Anglican (where we were yesterday). Father Ibrahim told us that there are 160,000 Palestinians in Nablus; 700 of them are Christians. However, because they are so active, if you were to ask the average person on the streets of Nablus how many Christians live in the city, he or she would say 5 or 6,000. That is quite a witness!
